She is Sarahí Lobera, my mom… she has been struggling with brain cancer and many different diseases (lungs capacity 60%). As part of the condition, she blackouts and has seizures constantly. Once, she just fell down. Due to her overweight, she got many fractures in one of her feet. It’s been a very long and complicated process for the surgery, and the appointments with her doctors to prepare her take too long. Often, the hospital doesn’t have equipment working properly to get the medical tests.
She doesn’t have any way of transportation, just Uber for the appointments at the hospital. Different floors or distances within the hospital are not accessible for her. She is damaging her fractured foot more and more because she has to walk and use the stairs at every single appointment. Also, her spine is getting affected because of the bad movement of her whole body.
She needs to get an “electrical wheelchair climber” to move inside the hospital, carry her oxygen tank and finishing all the tests, and also to live after the surgery and rehabilitation. It’s practically impossible to get her financially.
I work as a server, and I don’t make enough to pay bills here and in Mexico where she lives. She lives alone with my grandma, who is also very sick but can still walk.
