Dear friends,
I’m reaching out today on behalf of someone who means a great deal to me — my friend Alhagie, a kind-hearted and resilient young man from Lamin, Gambia. He is doing everything he can to support his two younger brothers, Alhassan and Husseini, but they are currently facing extreme hunger and hardship.
Despite his relentless efforts, Alhagie is struggling to find work in his country where opportunities are scarce and the cost of living continues to rise. The weight of responsibility on his shoulders is immense. He’s not just trying to survive, he’s trying to protect and provide for his family.
Here’s a message from Alhagie himself:
“I’m holding back tears just to write this… It’s about me and my siblings the pain we live with is beyond what words can describe. Every day feels like a fight for survival. We struggle just to find a single meal. Hunger has become our daily companion, and it hurts deeply. My little siblings cry almost every day, not because they’re being difficult, but because their stomachs are empty. Their tears break me. I try so hard to be strong for them, but watching them suffer this way is unbearable. We go to bed hungry, we wake up hungry it’s like every new day brings another battle with pain, and I’m running out of strength. This life we’re living, it’s not living… it’s surviving. And honestly, I don’t know how much longer we can keep doing this. I’m not okay and I can’t pretend to be. This hunger crisis is slowly destroying us inside. Please keep us in your prayers and if there’s anything you can do, anything at all, it would mean the world to us.”
Right now, they don’t have enough food to eat. On a daily basis they go without meals. This isn’t just a tough time they’re going through, it’s a crisis.
I’ve created this fundraiser because they need help — URGENTLY. I know many of us are going through difficulties with all that’s going on in the world right now, but there’s no reason my friend should have to helplessly watch his younger brothers starve. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go toward essentials: food, clean water, and basic necessities. Every dollar goes a long way in Gambia, and your kindness can truly make the difference between hunger and hope.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this campaign. Spreading the word is just as powerful.
Let’s show Alhagie, Alhassan, and Husseini that they are not forgotten and even across countries, there are people who care.
With love, appreciation and gratitude,
Wayne J.
