She is one of HUG’s most dedicated and selfless volunteers.
She arrives before most of us, stays long after we’re gone, and never once asks for anything in return. Whether she’s organizing food, helping with outreach, or filling up tiny food pantries across Charlotte on her own time — Jane shows up. Every single day.
Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
Just a few days ago, Jane’s apartment flooded and she lost everything. Her home was completely destroyed, and she is now facing the unimaginable task of starting over from scratch.
And yet, despite this, she still shows up for others — even while her own life is in crisis.
We’re raising funds to help Jane replace her most essential belongings and support her during this unexpected move. Every donation will go directly toward helping her secure a new place to live, purchase basic household items, and ease the financial strain of rebuilding after such a devastating loss.
