My 18-year-old nephew is a quiet, respectful young man with a passion for computer engineering. He was thriving in college until a sudden medical emergency changed everything. He fainted at school, and doctors discovered bleeding in his brain. After an urgent surgery, they found a mass—possibly a tumor. Just three days later, another mass appeared, requiring a second surgery. Since then, he’s faced complications with breathing and ongoing anxiety, especially as he worries about our family’s financial situation.
My sister, his mother, was recently laid off and hasn’t been able to work for three weeks. She’s been traveling to Kerrville to pick up shifts when possible, but it’s been a struggle. Our family has already faced so much—my mom suffered an aneurysm last year and is now in a wheelchair. My nephew has always been the one to help us the most, but now he needs our support more than ever.
We’re raising funds to help cover living expenses and some of the mounting medical bills. Any support will help ease the burden on our family and give my nephew the chance to focus on healing and, hopefully, returning to his studies. Thank you for reading and for any help you can offer.
