As most of you know, my life has always been a little…. Rough. I’ve battled with the idea of having to create this fundraiser for many reasons but mostly because it’s humiliating and I hate feeling like a charity case. But in the end I need to be able to say that I tried every avenue I had available to me while we navigate through the toughest times we’ve ever been faced with.
for context, and for you to know our story, I will explain in as much detail as I can fit into this bio.
On Feb 12 my daughter began to complain of severe stomach pain and started throwing up, I immediately brought her to the ER. There she was diagnosed with a blockage and they began to run tests to make sure there were no other issues. During one of these scans the Dr just so happened to check in and noticed that my daughter’s throat looked swollen. He immediately had her referred for a thyroid scan. Shortly after this I had a small procedure to check for esophageal cancer (I was fine) and to stretch my esophagus. A week or so after that we were informed they found a “goiter” in my daughter’s throat and prescribed medication to shrink it and make it go away.
April 4th I had to have my gallbladder removed after being practically bed ridden from the symptoms on and off all of 2024.
In regards to my daughter, we were then were referred to an ENT who did further testing including a biopsy, in which we were informed that it wasn’t just a goiter it was a tumor and the findings were “suspicious”. She was immediately scheduled for surgery to remove half of her thyroid on May 2nd. During her surgery they tested the removed half only to confirm it was a malignant cancer and they had to remove the ENTIRE thyroid. We were told she would receive radioactive iodine to catch any thyroid tissue they weren’t able to remove so it didn’t create more cancer.
Unfortunately on May 29, Memorial Day, we were informed that her cancer had spread, and is now in her lymph nodes. Since then she has been scheduled to receive scans and the radiation to try to remove and combat any remaining cancer and to make sure it hasn’t spread to the rest of her body through her lymphatic vascular system. If you’ve made it this far I thank you for reading this book, I just needed to explain everything that led us to this point of needing assistance. Between my unreliable car, and all of the various dr visits between my daughter, my son and I, it’s been almost impossible to make any kind of income besides small sells I make with my merchandise.Ive used all of my tax refund which was supposed to go to fixing my car to pay the bills up until last month, when I ran out of money. I know that everyone is facing their own demons right now, especially financially, but I figured the worst that could happen is that it just doesn’t work out on here, either way I will still be looking for more avenues of assistance or ways I can make income AND deal with all of this simultaneously. At minimum if you could please just share this i would greatly appreciate it.
