Hi everyone,
This is really hard for me to write because, like so many of us, I never thought I’d be here. Since May 2nd, I’ve been unemployed due to circumstances beyond my control. Unfortunately, my unemployment benefits have now been frozen they’re currently in adjudication because the system mistakenly thinks I’m working, and I’m not.
I used up my 401(k) while waiting for unemployment to approve me just to be put right back to square one.
While I wait for the state to fix this, my bills are still due, my fridge still needs food, and my family, though supportive, simply can’t cover all my basic needs. I’ve applied for countless jobs, gone on more interviews than I can count, and even tried to sign up for gig work like DoorDash, but it’s so oversaturated in my area that they’re not accepting new drivers.
I am trying so hard to keep my head above water, but I’ve hit a wall and asking for help is my only option right now.
If you can spare anything, it would go directly to essentials: rent, utilities, food, and keeping my phone on so I can keep job hunting. Every little bit truly helps more than you know.
