Hi all, my wife and I are in need of assistance. She’s a disabled veteran and I’m currently in the process of being put on as her caregiver. We now have a 4-month-old and are in a bit of a pickle.
We are in need of safe housing as the basement we’re renting keeps flooding. The VA was supposed to be helping us relocate, but it seems that after meeting all of their requests, we are suddenly hit with a minimum 3-year wait list.
Their request was to have an apartment or some housing picked out, applied for, and ready to move in. Well, obviously these places aren’t going to wait 3 years for us to move in.
The place we were hoping to move into will be ready for us around the 24th, but they want a $1200 deposit plus first month’s rent, not including moving costs and such. All of which the VA was supposed to be helping us with.
All we need is help meeting the initial costs. We would love to have our baby out of this situation as soon as possible.
