Help Sean Recover From Life-Saving Heart Surgery
Sean is the kind of young man you’re proud to know. He’s kind, respectful, soft-spoken, and full of heart. At over six feet tall, he’s a true gentle giant who adores his family and has always put others first.
Sean was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects the body’s connective tissues, including the heart, at an early age and has gone through several surgeries to correct his feet and sunken chest. This week, he underwent two major surgeries in just two days.
The first surgery removed a metal bar that had been placed in his chest a year and a half ago to correct a sunken chest. That bar had to be removed to give doctors access to his heart.
The second surgery, and the most critical, was an open aneurysm repair. Sean had developed an aortic aneurysm — a dangerous enlargement of the vessel leading from the heart. If left untreated, it could rupture. His heart will need time to rest, so doctors have placed him in a medically induced coma to begin the healing process.
The emotional and financial burden on his family has been overwhelming. Just one of the surgeries cost over $40,000, with 20% deductibles due upfront. His father paid $2,000 out of pocket before the first procedure and has already received another large bill for the heart surgery — and there are still more expenses to come. That plus having to take time off his job without pay limits his income.
We’re asking for your help. Donations will go directly toward medical bills, recovery costs, travel expenses, and giving Sean the best chance at a full recovery.
Whether you can give a little, a lot, or simply share this page and say a prayer — it all matters. Thank you for standing with Sean and our family during this incredibly hard time.
