Rebuild After Surgery and Homelessness

I have been having a very hard time for the last 3 years. In the last month, I have endured more than I can stand. Government assistance takes a long time to come into effect, and I have done everything I’m supposed to do in order to have an easier time after being addicted. I had an eviction court scheduled on the 16th of May. I broke my collarbone on the 18th in half and had to have emergency surgery, which happened on May 20th. I had agreed to be out of my house. I had planned on having a yard sale every day until I moved to get some more money and to get rid of some items. I thought I could trust the people that were living in my house. A disabled man that was supposed to take care of that was supposed to take my husband, who turned on me and got me addicted, out of my home. His new caregiver was his ex-girlfriend from high school and also his oldest child’s mother. She and I became quite good friends, and I learned after this that she was not my friend. They went through my belongings, destroying many items, stealing other items, and trying to call the cops when I came a day late for my items to pick up because I broke the collarbone and was unable to get help right away and a storage unit to store my things. I didn’t get out of the hospital with surgery until 3 hours before I was supposed to be out of the house. That didn’t matter to anyone. I left with the clothes on my back and my dog, Tucker. I had moved all of my items with one friend and one truck with my broken clavicle, which now had two plates and 20 plus screws. I had a 2 lb weight limit. I feared that I could most likely cause damage to the surgery that was done to the implants on my clavicle. I also lost the keys to my storage unit later and had to cut the lock off. I got charged damages for that, which was $75, so I cannot get into my unit now. I now have two pairs of underwear, a pair of jeans, a pair of cargo pants, a pair of shorts, two shirts, and the crappiest shoes that I own. I have an 80 lb backpack that I carry around that has soap, makeup, my clothes, self-care items, multi-tools, pencils, and other things. My food stamps have been over a month now. It is hard to get money for food. It is hard to get money for anything. Everybody is tired of giving. It is hard to trip around the city on foot. I walk at least 10 miles a day, if not more. I am trying to keep in good spirits. After about 3 weeks, I finally found a home for Tucker, who I thought I would get to go see, and now they’ve blocked me on Facebook, so I’m unable to see my Tucker anymore. I’m waiting on government assistance still. It takes weeks and weeks for these things to go through. This doesn’t happen instantly. I have tried to get jobs. I have been trying to get jobs for 2 years. Jobs are not out there; they’re not available. And then the jobs that are posted on Nextdoor go so quick you can’t even get them fast enough. Now I’ve lost service on my phone again and have to depend on Wi-Fi in order to contact anyone or to post anything like that. Also, it takes so long for fundraiser to process your payments. If you are to donate, it would be so kind if you could do it to my Cash App or Venmo. Cash App would be better. Cash App is $sprinkel75, Venmo is hsprinkel75.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
