Help Ninna Fight Breast Cancer
Our beloved friend Ninna received heartbreaking news this week — a biopsy on Monday confirmed that she has breast cancer.
Ninna is scheduled to undergo surgery on July 17, followed by four weeks of chemotherapy. As she begins this difficult journey, she needs our support — emotionally, spiritually, and financially.
If you know her, you know she is more than a nanny — she is a treasure in the Evanston community, a constant source of love, joy, and nurturing care. She has helped raise so many of our children with patience, laughter, and wisdom.
Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
We’re raising $20,000 to help cover:
Surgery and chemotherapy costs not covered by insurance
Time off work to heal and recover
Transportation to and from treatment
Post-surgical care and essentials
Everyday living expenses during recovery
Every dollar helps — no gift is too small. And if you’re not able to donate at this time, please share this link with others who might.
Let’s come together as the community she has loved so well — and give Ninna the care, strength, and stability she needs to heal.
As she always says, “Mašallah” — may blessings continue even through hardship. Let’s be part of that blessing for her now.
With gratitude,
#TeamNinna
Update, July 1st:
Ninna underwent an MRI to see if the cancer has spread to any other parts of her body. Thankfully, it has stayed put and was caught early. This type tends to go for the brain. We wish her well in her upcoming treatment plan.
