Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,
I’m reaching out on behalf of a dear friend, a woman who wishes to remain anonymous, who is fighting an unimaginable battle with severe chronic illnesses. She’s been diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), dysautonomia, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), and extreme chemical sensitivities that trigger life-threatening anaphylactic reactions. These conditions make everyday life a minefield—something as simple as going to the grocery store or being near someone wearing fragrance can send her into a medical crisis. Even mold in buildings can cause severe reactions, leaving her unable to seek care at hospitals or clinics without risking her health further.
Her body is weak, and her conditions have left her unable to work, pushing her to the edge of homelessness. She’s also struggling to care for her beloved service dog, who is her lifeline but whose vet bills she can no longer afford. With no family and very few friends, she’s facing this alone, and her situation is dire. Despite her strength and resilience, she’s at a breaking point, and without help, she may lose everything.
We’re raising funds to give her a fighting chance at stability and recovery. Your donations will go toward:
– Alternative medical care: Specialized treatments for POTS, dysautonomia, and MCAS, such as integrative or functional medicine consultations, which are often not covered by insurance but could help manage her symptoms.
– Safe housing: A mold-free, fragrance-free living space to protect her from environmental triggers and prevent homelessness.
– Service dog care: Vet bills, food, and supplies to ensure her dog, who helps her manage her conditions, stays healthy.
– Basic needs: Groceries (delivered to avoid triggers), medical supplies, and other essentials to support her day-to-day survival.
Every dollar counts. Your contribution can help provide her with the care and stability she desperately needs. She’s not one to ask for help, and her wish for anonymity comes from the pain and exhaustion of explaining her invisible illnesses. But I’ve seen her courage, and I know that with our support, she can find a path to a better quality of life.
Please, if you’re able, donate today and share this campaign with your network. Together, we can be the community she doesn’t have, offering hope in her darkest moments. Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
With gratitude,
Meika
