We are writing this fundraiser on behalf of our beloved Rosa. If you’ve ever had the privilege of knowing her, you know that she is one of the most caring, loving, and devoted women you could ever meet. Rosa has the biggest heart and pours her love into her children, grandchildren, and everyone she encounters.
On June 26th, Rosa was rushed to the hospital after having a seizure at the gym. She was immediately intubated and had an urgent CT scan of her brain, which revealed that she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage—a severe form of hemorrhagic stroke caused by bleeding in the space surrounding the brain. Hemorrhagic strokes are extremely dangerous and can lead to permanent brain damage, long-term disability, or even death if not treated quickly. She was taken into emergency surgery, where doctors placed an external ventricular drain (EVD) to relieve pressure by draining excess blood and cerebrospinal fluid from her brain.
Since then, Rosa has been in the intensive care unit, fighting through each day with strength and determination. While she has shown signs of progress, her recovery journey is far from over. She will likely require continued monitoring and treatment for vasospasms—a serious complication involving the narrowing of blood vessels in the brain that can further impair blood flow and increase the risk of an ischemic stroke. In addition, she will need extensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy to regain her full strength and independence.
This journey will be a marathon, not a sprint—but we remain hopeful.
We are humbly asking for support as we prepare for the long road ahead. Funds will go toward her medical expenses, future rehabilitation, and the many costs that come with navigating such a critical illness. If you are unable to donate, please consider lifting Rosa in your thoughts or prayers. Your love, support, and kindness mean the world to Rosa and her family. With great gratitude, thank you.
