Our beloved aunt, Luisa Kiko, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, and our family is now facing one of the most difficult challenges we’ve ever encountered. Luisa is not only a wonderful sister, aunt, and friend, she’s also a devoted mother of six beautiful children who depend on her every day. Luisa lives in Uganda, where access to proper healthcare is incredibly limited, especially for those without financial means. She is currently facing desperate conditions, without the resources she needs to begin her fight against this disease. Despite these hardships, she remains strong, hopeful, and full of love for her family.
Luisa is the kind of woman who lights up any room she walks into. She’s hardworking, selfless, and endlessly loving. Despite the many hardships she’s faced in life, she has always found a way to provide for her children and keep her family strong and united. Now, as she prepares for a mastectomy, she’s entering a battle that no one should have to face alone, especially not without the resources to get the care she desperately needs.
Unfortunately, Luisa does not have the financial means to afford the full scope of her treatment. The cost of surgery, follow-up care, medications, transportation, child care, and the income lost while she is unable to work are simply more than she or our family can manage on our own. We are turning to our community and beyond for help.
We are fundraising to ensure Luisa can:
Undergo the surgery she needs
Receive the medications and care that will aid her recovery
Have reliable child care while she is healing
Cover basic living expenses and transportation to and from appointments
Our goal is to help Luisa get back on her feet and most importantly, back to her kids. Her children are her entire world, and all she wants is to recover and be there for them as she always has. The photo attached shows two of Luisa’s children, who loves and depends on her. They are the reason we’re doing everything we can to get her the treatment she needs.
