Sarah Is NOT Alone – Help Me Raise $50,000 for Her Emergency Leg Surgery
My name is Kay Kay, and I’m an Indigenous advocate and community member who refuses to stay silent when our elders are suffering. I’m raising funds for Sarah LeDeau, a 70-year-old Little Shell Tribal member who has been sitting with a broken leg for over two weeks — and has been denied surgery because of a broken, bureaucratic healthcare system.
Sarah is in agonizing pain. Indian Health Service (IHS) has refused to authorize her surgery because a private insurance provider is listed as her primary — and they won’t move forward until that company responds. Weeks have passed with no answer. No one should have to wait for care like this.
Sarah needs surgery now. The cost is estimated at $50,000.
To make matters worse, Sarah has been blocked by the Little Shell tribal government, denied the right to speak out, seek support, or be acknowledged in her time of need. She’s being punished politically while her medical condition worsens.
But I want Sarah to know — and I want the world to know —
She is NOT alone.
I’m organizing this fundraiser because I believe in protecting our elders. Sarah has always stood up for our children, our community, and our future. Now it’s time we show up for her.
All funds will go directly to:
• Emergency leg surgery
• Post-operative care and physical therapy
• Medical transportation and lodging if needed
• Basic needs during her recovery
If you believe our elders deserve care, respect, and dignity — please donate what you can. Share Sarah’s story. Lift her name. Let’s make sure she knows she is not forgotten.
