Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help for someone very dear to me—my stepdad, Aurelio Jurado, who I proudly call Dad.
Aurelio has been more than a father. For over 30 years, he dedicated his life to teaching literature in high schools, inspiring generations of students with his love for words, deep knowledge, and deep care for their well-being. He was the kind of teacher who looked after his students, who remembered every student’s name, and who made sure no one felt left behind. Many of his students still reach out today to thank him for the impact he had on their lives.
Now, he is facing one of the toughest challenges of his life.
Recently, he has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. The diagnosis came suddenly and turned our lives upside down. He is currently hospitalized, where he’s receiving intensive treatment including corticosteroids, MRIs, and consultations for oncology and radiotherapy. He’s awaiting further hospitalization in the neurology and/or internal medicine ward.
This process has been emotionally and financially overwhelming for our family. But in the midst of it all, my dad, Aurelio, remains incredibly brave. He’s fighting not just for himself, but for his growing family—he’s just become a grandfather for the very first time, and will have another grandchild on the way later this year. These new lives have given him even more strength to fight. We are doing all we can as a family, but the cost of medical care is overwhelming—from diagnostic exams to hospital stays, medications, and specialized treatments. We want him to be here for those beautiful milestones. We want to give him the best possible chance at recovery. But we can’t do it alone.

Hola a todos,
Escribo estas palabras con el corazón en la mano para pedir su ayuda para alguien muy querido para mí: mi padrastro, Aurelio Jurado, a quien siempre he llamado con orgullo papá.
Aurelio ha sido mucho más que un padre. Durante más de 30 años, dedicó su vida a enseñar literatura en colegios secundarios, inspirando a generaciones de estudiantes con su amor por las letras, su profundo conocimiento y, sobre todo, su gran compromiso con el bienestar de cada uno de ellos. Fue ese profesor que siempre estaba pendiente de sus alumnos, que recordaba cada nombre y que nunca dejaba a nadie atrás. Hasta hoy, muchos de sus exalumnos lo recuerdan con cariño y le agradecen el impacto que tuvo en sus vidas.
Hoy, él enfrenta uno de los retos más duros de su vida.
Hace poco fue diagnosticado con un tumor cerebral. La noticia llegó de forma repentina y ha sacudido por completo a nuestra familia. Actualmente se encuentra hospitalizado, recibiendo tratamientos intensivos como corticoterapia, resonancias magnéticas y evaluaciones oncológicas y de radioterapia. Está a la espera de ser trasladado a hospitalización en neurología y medicina interna.
Este proceso ha sido emocional y económicamente muy duro para nosotros. Pero a pesar de todo, mi papá Aurelio está demostrando una valentía enorme. Está luchando no solo por él, sino también por su familia que sigue creciendo: acaba de convertirse en abuelo por primera vez, y muy pronto llegará su segundo nieta. La llegada de estas nuevas integrantes a la familia le han dado aún más fuerzas para seguir luchando.
Como familia estamos haciendo todo lo posible, pero los costos médicos son abrumadores: desde exámenes, medicamentos, hospitalizaciones hasta tratamientos especializados. Queremos que él esté presente para esos momentos tan importantes. Queremos darle la mejor oportunidad de recuperación. Pero no podemos hacerlo solos.
Por eso, con humildad, les pedimos su apoyo para poder brindarle la atención que necesita y merece.
