Help Us Honor a Hero: Supporting Our Mom After a Sudden Loss
This morning, our world changed forever.
Our father—our dad, our rock, our provider—passed away unexpectedly. A devoted truck driver and tireless worker, he carried the weight of generations on his shoulders. He wasn’t just the man of his house; he was the man everyone in his world could count on—his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, and even his aging parents. He never complained. He just did what needed to be done, day in and day out, with quiet strength and unwavering love.
He was the kind of man who fixed things before you even realized they were broken. Who picked up the slack, filled in the gaps, and made life easier for everyone around him—because that’s just who he was. Generous. Strong. Humble. Steady. A man’s man with a servant’s heart.
We are shattered by his loss. And while we grieve the irreplaceable space he leaves behind in our hearts and homes, we’re also faced with a very real, immediate need: supporting our mom.
She is now without the partner she relied on every day, emotionally and financially. She is on disability and unable to work. The loss of his income, presence, and protection is more than heartbreaking—it’s life-altering.
We are asking, with open hands and humble hearts, for any support you can give. Every dollar helps cover not only the cost of laying this great man to rest, but also easing the burden for the woman he loved and cared for so faithfully.
If you ever had a father like this—or wished you did—you know what a man like this means to a family. Let’s surround them with the same strength and support he showed the world every day.
Please give what you can. Share this with your circles. And help us honor a life lived in service to others by showing up for the family he left behind.
With love and gratitude,
The Family of Luis Javier Hernandez
