On the morning of June 15, 2025, my life changed in an instant when a fire broke out in our Brooklyn, New York home. My two children—my 13-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son—and our beloved kitten were all inside with me when the fire started. In the chaos, my daughter showed incredible bravery. She ran into a room filled with flames to rescue our kitten, then crawled toward the front entrance, guiding her little brother to safety. Her courage saved our family, and I am so grateful that we all made it out unharmed.
Now, we are facing the difficult reality of having lost everything. We need help to secure temporary housing, replace our belongings, and provide essentials like clothes, shoes, food, and water. The support we receive will help us rebuild our lives and give my children a sense of stability after such a traumatic event.
