My name is Michelle and I am in desperate need of help. We’ve recently had severe storms and a lot of rain in Missouri and my roof was damaged. I filed an insurance claim, and because the adjuster could only find 6-10 damaged shingles on the entire roof, I was told the payout would be less than my $1000 deductible, and it was denied and closed.
I’ve paid $400 out of pocket to have it tarped, but that’s not going to last long. I applied for help from Habitat, specifically their Brush With Kindness, and have been told they are at limit already for the year. They suggested reaching out to the Red Cross and FEMA, and I’ve done both. Unfortunately, my area wasn’t listed as part of Missouri they were able to help.
I’m disabled and on an extremely tight budget. All of my savings went towards having the roof tarped. Any help would be so gratefully appreciated. All monies will be used for the replacement of my roof and repairs of my ceiling. Thank you!
