Hello, my name is Lisa. I am an Ohio native who recently moved home from South Carolina. I’ve been back for almost a year now. My daughter and her babies also returned to Ohio when I did. We’ve hit every stumbling block and brick wall known to mankind since being here when it comes to housing. We either get approved for places, but they want outrageous rent and deposit rates, or we get denied. There’s no in-between!
We have been approved for a newer mobile home that can be ours after 18 months, but we need $3500 down.
A little about us: I am a non-emergency medical transport driver. I work 5 days a week, sometimes 12 hours a day. My daughter is a full-time student to become a dental assistant. The babies are 2 and 1 years old. The 2-year-old has been diagnosed with autism level 2, and the 1-year-old is now showing some of the same signs he did at that age. They need structure and stability; we know this. And we are truly trying to provide that for them. We just need a little help getting there.
She has no credit, like her score is zero, and I am working to rebuild mine. But I’m not quite high enough for a mortgage loan yet. We just financed a car so she can get back and forth to her classes. But we have only made one payment so far, so even though it’s helping, it’s not helping fast enough.
I promise anything that is given to help us will definitely be paid forward. So if you find it in your heart to help us get into a home of our own, we would be more than appreciative. Thank you for taking your time to read our story.
