My name is Evelyn Bales, and I live in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I’m reaching out for help after a recent assault left me with broken teeth, severe bruising, and a long road to recovery. At nearly 72 years old, I’m facing not only the physical pain from this attack but also the financial burden of urgent dental work. My front tooth was badly damaged, and my dentist at All Care Dental says I may need more than a crown due to the extent of the injury and the effects of recent radiation for lung cancer. I also need partials and crowns replaced, but my immediate concern is restoring my front tooth and being able to eat properly again.
My journey has not been easy. I am a survivor of abuse that began when I was four years old and lasted until I was 22. For years, I struggled with shame and guilt, but through therapy and faith, I learned to see myself as a loving, giving person. After decades of building a good life, I now find myself in need again. I have no family to turn to, and my friends are unable to help due to their own limited means. I’ve asked for help at church and in the community, but so far, I haven’t found the support I need.
Radiation treatment for lung cancer has left me feeling tired and in need of healthy food, which is costly on a limited income. My birthday is coming up in July, and I hope to celebrate it with a smile I can be proud of. Any help you can offer will go directly toward dental care and recovery, helping me regain my health and confidence. Thank you for reading my story and for any support you can give. God bless you.
