My name is Donna, and I recently became a grandmother to three beautiful grandchildren in the past year. I want nothing more than to watch them grow up and be there for all the important moments in their lives. Just after turning 49, I received the devastating news that I have stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, grade 3, in my breast and lymph node. My cancer cells are multiplying rapidly, and my doctors are concerned it may have spread elsewhere in my body. I’m scheduled to have a port put in next Friday and will begin chemotherapy immediately, along with a full body scan to determine the extent of the cancer.
This diagnosis has turned my world upside down. I work as a flagger, but I won’t be able to continue working during treatment. That means I’ll have no way to pay for my rent, car insurance, utilities, and all the basic bills that keep me afloat. I’m facing this challenge mostly on my own, and the thought of becoming homeless while fighting cancer is overwhelming. I’m hoping and praying to make it through this so I can be there for my grandchildren and see them grow into adults.
Any support will help me cover my living expenses and give me the stability I need to focus on my treatment and recovery. Your kindness will make a real difference in my life during this difficult time. Thank you for reading my story and considering a donation.
