My name is Brittani, and I’m an 8-year Army veteran, a medically disabled VA recipient, and most importantly, a single mom to an amazing 6-year-old boy who has already faced more medical challenges than most adults ever will causing my sudden discharge from the Army.
Recently, our lives took an unexpected and difficult turn. Our only vehicle was totaled in a severe accident that left both my partner and my son injured. As a result of the crash my partner has been unable to work, and I have been the only one financially providing. I’ve had to miss work due to being VA medically disabled and having recent medical issues with that—further straining our already tight finances.
Despite everything, I’ve also opened my home to a teenage girl whose life was turned upside down when her family home was lost in a house fire caused by arson. With no support from her family and nowhere to go, I couldn’t let her face that kind of trauma alone.
All of these events have compounded quickly, and now I find myself several months behind on my mortgage. I’m doing everything I can to stay afloat and provide a safe, stable home for these two children, but I’m at the point where I can’t do it alone.
I’ve never been someone to ask for help, but I know when I need to reach out—and this is that time. Your support would help us:
Catch up on our mortgage and avoid losing our home
Afford medical care and recovery needs for my son and partner
Maintain a safe and stable environment for both children in my care
I would also really love to surprise the kind girl staying with me with some new things she lost in the fire. Books, clothes, etc. I would also love to be able to pay for her to get her drivers license and driving school so that she can finally have some much needed freedom.
Every donation, share, and kind word truly means the world to us. From the bottom of my heart—thank you for standing with us during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
Brittani
