Hello and good day my name is Shawna I recently turned 27 June 12 and I have been through a whirlwind in the last three weeks I’m currently 32 weeks (8months) pregnant and seeking help with move in cost for an apartment to avoid homelessness. I just finished my first year as a teacher but unfortunately I was contracted where as my job did not offer any assistance to me because there not available I’m contracted through a third party so there was no maternity leave or FMLA that would apply in my situation.
I have been struggling with homelessness for two weeks now and have been sleeping in my car in this hot Arizona weather. I managed to apply to an apartment with my last $200 and by the grace of God I was approved this morning I’m asking for help with move in cost if I have all the money by June 18th I’ll get the keys and will be able to move in please help get me out of this heat. I have looked into resources since Arizona is supposed to be ending homelessness. I haven’t had very much luck most resources come from 211 and they send you in a big loop that’s never ending you’ll be lucky to get a live person on the phone. Also the Arizona housing authority, rapid re housing, John F Long, Travis L Williams And even St Joseph’s all only have appointments Monday mornings at 8am and it’s like winning the lottery if someone answers all appointments were filled by 8:30am there been no help both my parents are also suffering financial difficulties my dad files for bankruptcy after his accident and my mom has not been in the picture to help in year and I haven’t been able to fine her. I have no siblings I’m an only child and no relatives to look to help me in the horrific time of my life.
