Hi, my name is Drew, and my emotional support dog Rory and I have been homeless since June 1st, 2025. We’ve been staying in a modest motel in Missouri thanks to the generosity of others. Every donation so far has been a literal lifesaver. It has kept a roof over our heads, food in our bellies, our phones turned on, and our belongings safely stored.
I am physically disabled and receive disability benefits, but those funds will not arrive in time before Friday, when our motel stay ends at 11am on June 20th.
To make matters harder, housing assistance in this part of Missouri has dried up completely with no timeline for when or if support will return.
That is why I am asking for help to get home to Bay City, Michigan, where I do have a support system and local housing crisis help already being put in place. But in order to access those services, I need to be physically present and officially a resident.
I am raising funds to cover:
• A U-Haul to transport our belongings
• Gas to make the drive back to Michigan
• A storage unit there for our things
• A few nights at a motel until a spot opens at the local shelter
This is not just about relocating. It is about finally getting the chance to rebuild somewhere safe and supportive.
