Hi friends,
I’m reaching out on behalf of two incredibly kind and humble people who have quietly been facing one of the hardest seasons of their lives.
William and Bernadette are an elderly couple living in San Ramon. I’ve known them for a few years now, and from the very beginning, they’ve stood out for their warmth, faith, and quiet resilience. They first connected with me through the Dave Ramsey community, and since then, I’ve stayed in touch, helping where I can — with food, small donations, or just being someone they can call.
Over the last year, things have taken a heartbreaking turn. Bernadette is battling early-onset dementia, and it’s been progressing. Anyone who has watched a loved one face memory loss knows how painful and disorienting it can be — not just for the person going through it, but for their spouse and family as well.
Now, William is facing his own serious medical issues, and unfortunately, they have no savings or insurance to help cover the costs. He’s doing his best to stay strong and take care of Bernadette, but it’s getting harder by the day.
This fundraiser is our way of wrapping our arms around them as a community — of saying, “You’re not alone.” We’ve set a goal of $20,000 to help cover William’s medical expenses and ease the financial strain so he can continue caring for Bernadette.
If you’ve ever thought, “I wish I could do something,” — this is it. Even small donations — $50, $100 — add up and make a real difference. And if you’re not in a place to give, please share this with your friends, church groups, and anyone who might be able to help.
Let’s show this sweet couple that love and community still matter — especially now.
With gratitude,
Lisa Doyle
