I’m Mary Araujo trying to raise funds for my daughter that never ask for help.
She is hard working, determined young lady. Her son Emilio is her responsibility. She moved back to nebraska from Montana. She loved her job as property manager in the mountains for 3 years and 4 years full time in Yellowstone.
Emilio was a gift from God because the doctors said she would never have kids. At the age of 30 it was a shock. She knew she couldn’t raise him on the mountains. The nearest doctor was 2 1/2 hours away. Winter time snowed in for 3 days.
He was a premmie.
She came home to nebraska and got a job working nights, goes to college to be a teacher. Takes care of Emilio during the day, provides everything he needs. No assistance from wwelfare. Pays her bills,no credit cards.
Emilio needed surgery but she didn’t give up finding a surgeon. 3 surgeons and finally one from children’s hospital said yes.
She needed a dependable car to get him there. Plus work and stores.
She went to a car dealer in wood river told him the reason she needed a trustworthy car. Sold her a 2017 Chevy Trax. She secured a loan for Kelly blue book price. Got full coverage, extended warranty, gap insurance. Drove the car home but it wouldn’t get over 50 miles an hour ,got home called dealership.
Said sometimes when they wash the motor it affects the sensor bring it back. No I’m not going to drive it back don’t want more damage to it. He sent his son from woodriver and he worked on it. Next day took it out same problem. Mean time children’s hospital called said they had a cancelation get him here next week.
Seals hip came ,got the car and said he couldn’t get it into Chevy dealship for a month. Used brothers car to Omaha.
Emilio had the surgery and it was successful. Just don’t let him pull the tubes or stitches. Off work for 3 weeks to care for him. Meanwhile car dealer called car is fine come get it. Broke down again sat in our driveway for a month and had to have it towed to our Chevy dealership. Warranty people wanted the mileage to make sure she wasn’t driving it. Shop fixed it brought it home. $1000.00 to fix it,Warranty paid nothing on it.
Drove it back and forth 3 miles to work. She checked the fluids and I helped her. What is this white crap in the motor and under oil cap?
She had the oil changed. (Funny car dealership she bought it from said he changed the oil when she bought it.)
A week later she drove it to the lake playground. 7 miles later it broke down again. Had it towed and sat our Chevy dealership for a month before they looked at it. 4th cylinder in motor no compression, broke piston rings and piston rod. Need a new motor. Warranty will only cover $3,000 and motor cost $11,000
She owes $6,000 on it.
She cried. Any money in your savings account? A little. I used my federal to pay off my doctor bill and ambulance bill. I was paying on the each month and whittled them down. Paid them off so I only had car payment and insurance. I have a grant for school but only took out for my books and classes.
This is not right! She is trying to make a better life for herself and her son.
She said sometimes life is like climbing a mountain but I never reach the top, I always seem to slide back down.
Well you didn’t fall all the way down the mountain, you caught yourself. Maybe God doesn’t want us to reach the top. He stopped your slide and wanted you to look behind you to see how far you’ve come. Life has struggles but all your life you have never given up.
Drove it back
