I wish I could tell Ali’s story here, but they don’t give me enough room. She has Best dystrophy, which is a treatable but non-curable eye disease that robs you of your center vision. It was inherited from her father, who died blind. She was given no hope by her new doctors in Nashville, Tennessee, who tried treating her with laser to no avail. She needs to come to CT to receive Avastin injections, which can help her vision every 4 months, but she can’t afford the travel for her and her 7-year-old daughter. She is a single mom. Without these injections, there is no hope of stopping the loss of her vision.
