Hi all, well our story starts 2 years ago. Our then 14-year-old daughter complained of back pain. After 5 different ER visits, no one could pinpoint the reason why. With frustration and stress building, we tried St. Christopher’s one more time… Finally, an answer: she is diagnosed with spinal cancer. She had 2 surgeries within a 3-month period, had to learn to walk again, and did walk at her 8th-grade graduation and started being a kid again. Follow-up was every 3 months with an MRI.
As of today, July 9, 2025, the tumor has resurfaced and on July 14, 2025, she starts 33 rounds of proton therapy. We as a family are devastated; we thought she was clear. We are financially and mentally drained and just would like to give her something she wants, which is a bedroom makeover and maybe a couple of days down the shore after her treatments are over. Angela is a beautiful, kind, always happy, and giving 16-year-old and we know she would love a beautiful new room.
