My name is April Green and I am currently a patient at UWMC in Seattle. I’ve recently been fighting for my life for the last couple of years due to heart failure I developed after having my last child a little over 9 years ago. I was given a timeline to live for about 5 years and have exceeded expectations. I have state Medicaid but have been denied 3 times for a heart and lung transplant, and the cardiology team here truly doesn’t understand why. One doctor just said she’s been doing this for 23 years and this is unheard of. I’ve done everything I’ve been asked of and now I’m at the end of the line. I’m only 42 years old and have 8 children I still need to live for. Three are minors who recently lost their father last year, and I am all that they have left. I don’t know what else to do other than to reach out to the powers that be to try and help me because I don’t want to leave my babies. Please give me a call or email with any resources you may have.
