Hello Everyone, this Go fund Me is for my very special Uncle, Tio Chuy, Jesus Peña Tamez. I normally wouldn’t create an account asking for help, but this is for a very good cause and my curiosity has me wondering if we could help alleviate some struggle and suffering with just a little kindness and charity. Any donation will help him in his struggle and help to keep him safe.

His story began when he was born in Monterrey Mexico, by my grandmother, Maricela. My grandmother was told by the Doctor that delivered him, that the Forceps that were used at the time did some minor damage to his brain. That minor damage has since then created frequent seizures, and he was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was small child.

Throughout his life the seizures has had immense effect on him and has not allowed him to live an easy life. He lived with my grandparents in a small run- down apartment , my grandmother helped take care of him, but in the last few years both my grandparents have passed away. He was never able to marry or have a stable partner, his income and health reasons made it hard for him to sustain a normal everyday life. He still remains in the small apartment and his sister Elena has now taken my grandmothers place as his caretaker.

In Mexico, it is very hard to find a job that will employ you if you are handicapped. He always worked odd jobs, such as cleaning and polishing shoes, selling street corn, selling small goods in the streets, but never anything that would bring in any type of significant money, just enough to feed himself day by day. He is now 61 and in the last couple of decades has managed to keep a Security job. He stands at his post everyday keeping watch and allowing people to enter their premises. He keeps guard 12 hours a day 6 days a week, in very hot weather. With his job he has maintained a salary of $5,500 pesos bi weekly or estimated $310 biweekly for 144 hours. He has had many accidents with falls due to seizures over the years. Mostly during his commutes, as he takes buses to and from work everyday.

He is now 61 and wishes to retire soon, but retirement isn’t until 65 and the amount he would receive for his pension would be greatly lessened. Even if he were to retire at 65 he would only get $350 a month. His condition has become worse day by day, and our worries as a family for his well-being have gravely increased. His memory has been greatly affected, and when he has his seizures he sometimes has these long episodes where he is in a trans state of mind. He has fallen in public areas and injured himself. He even ended up on the news because no one knew who he was and he wasn’t able to remember due to a bad fall from a seizure. Over the years he has been treated very poorly by many employers due to his condition, many employers have taken advantage of him. He is no longer in a position where he can still work. God has saved him many times, and I’m hoping we can help him out too.

This Go FundME would help towards paying his medical expenses. His medical expenses mainly include, his medicine, labs, and different testing he needs. His medicine has had to increase overtime due to the dosage no longer being effective. He has also been struggling with prostate problems. Unfortunately our family in Mexico does not have the means to pay for all his expenses.

Please consider helping him out, anything would be so greatly appreciated, as he has not been treated with much kindness from the outside world and this would touch his and our families hearts so deeply. Thank you
