Su Historia:
Regina es madre soltera de 2 hijos de 10 y 22 años. Ella ha pasado por muchas dificultades de salud en tan poco tiempo. En el 2023 estuvo sometida a varios estudios médicos y finalmente fue hospitalizada en Junio 2023 por un mes completo por problemas respiratorios (Neumonía y más). Le sacaron placas, Rayos X, estudios y otros tratamientos que siguió por varios meses impidiéndole trabajar por un tiempo. Ella empezó a recuperarse poco a poco después de unos meses.

Pero desafortunadamente en Julio del 2024 se hizo un estudio de rutina por una pelotilla que se descubrió en el seno izquierdo, le realizaron pruebas/estudios y a principios de Septiembre de 2024 le dieron la noticia que fue diagnosticada con cáncer de seno triple negativo agresivo en etapa 2B Metastásico.

Desde entonces, se ha sometido a varios tratamientos de quimioterapias durante 7 meses los cuales han sido muy efectivos de acuerdo con los oncólogos, pero también dejando muchos efectos secundarios afectando su estado de salud e independencia propia para hacer sus actividades laborales y personales por sí misma hasta el momento. El pasado Junio 30 se llevó a cabo la cirugía y próximamente será sometida a radiación. Después continuará con más tratamientos los cuales serán para prevenir que el cáncer regrese….

Muchos de ustedes se preguntarán por qué hasta ahora estamos realizando esto. El motivo es que su Mamá estaba fuera del país, y por motivos de salud, no queríamos que se enterara por teléfono o por redes sociales. Ya que llegó, le pudimos decir lo que estaba pasando con Regina.

Quienes conocen a mí hermana saben que ella ha sido la mejor madre, amiga, hermana e hija, etc. Regina intenta mantenerse positiva y animada a pesar de todo lo que está viviendo en estos momentos. De vez en cuando nos hace reír con uno que otro chiste! Pero también hay días que la hemos visto llorar de impotencia por no poder hacer y atender a su hija pequeña como solía hacerlo y muchas otras cosas más. Se le ha vuelto difícil trabajar ya que no puede sostenerse de pie por largos periodos y su sistema inmunológico está muy débil por los tratamientos. Ella tambien podría enfermarse fácilmente y los médicos recomiendan que de preferencia se mantenga aislada para no tener que pausar ningún tratamiento por motivos de salud diferente al tratamiento de cáncer.

Para apoyarla a ella y a sus hijos, estamos haciendo esta publicación para recaudar fondos para que ella pueda pagar facturas atrasadas y las que están por venir ya que este es un tratamiento que seguirá por unos 5+ años aproximadamente de acuerdo a los oncólogos. Sus donaciones la ayudarán para que en un futuro pueda tener los cuidados necesarios y no tener que parar ningún tratamiento. También le ayudará a poder tener un sustento en la familia.

Her Story:
Regina is a single mother of two children, ages 10 and 22. She has been through many health challenges in such a short time. In 2023, she underwent several medical tests and was finally hospitalized in June 2023 for a full month due to respiratory problems (pneumonia and more). She underwent X-rays, tests, and other treatments for several months, preventing her from working for a while. She began to recover little by little after a few months.
But unfortunately in July 2024 she underwent a routine study for a lump that was discovered in her left breast, tests/studies were performed and in early September 2024 she was given the news that she was diagnosed with aggressive stage 2B Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer.

Since then, she has undergone several chemotherapy treatments for seven months, which have been very effective according to her oncologists, but also caused many side effects affecting her health and her independence to carry out her work and personal activities on her own. Surgery was performed on June 30th, and she will soon undergo radiation. She will then continue with more treatments to prevent the cancer from returning.

Many of you may be wondering why we’re only doing this now. The reason is that her mom was out of the country, and for health reasons, we didn’t want her to find out by phone or through social media. Once she arrived, we were able to tell her what was happening.

Those who know Regina know that she has been the best mother, friend, sister, daughter, etc. Regina tries to stay positive and cheerful despite everything she’s going through right now. Every now and then, she makes us laugh with a joke or two! But there are also days when we’ve seen her cry from helplessness for not being able to do and care for her little girl like she used to, and for many other things. It’s become difficult for her to work since she can’t stand for long periods, and her immune system is very weak from the treatments. She could also get sick easily, and doctors recommend that she preferably stay isolated so she doesn’t have to pause any treatments for health reasons other than cancer.
To support her and her children, I’m making this post to raise funds so she can pay past due bills and future ones, as this is a treatment she’ll be undergoing for approximately five years, according to her oncologists. Your donations will help her receive the necessary care in the future and avoid having to stop any treatment. It will also help her provide for her family.
