Help Happy fight Cancer — Support for a Deserving Dad & Hero
Six months after finally retiring, our beloved Happy — a proud dad, loyal husband, and the kind of grandfather who shows up every time — was given news no one ever deserves: metastatic cancer, everywhere.
Cancer didn’t care that he worked hard his whole life. It didn’t care that he planned to finally rest. It didn’t care that he had just started to live the slower, peaceful life he earned.
The Reality:
• He was diagnosed with late-stage metastatic cancer just months into retirement.
• Medical care costs $7,000 out of pocket before insurance kicks in.
• He and our mom — a full-time hospice nurse — are trying to manage all the rest of life just on her income. His care cost $1,700 a month and his monthly retirement does not cover that.
She spends her nights caring for others in their final moments… and her days worrying and caring for the man she loves. It’s overwhelming.
To be truthful, we didn’t think we’d have this much time with him. (And I didn’t think financials would matter much. ) But he’s been fighting 4 months now, and it could really help.
Who Happy Is:
• A devoted grandfather who lives to watch his grandkids play
• A passionate Red Sox fan
• A fisherman with patience for days
• The kind of man who always said yes when you needed him
He’s not asking for help — but we are, on his behalf.
Thank you for reading, supporting, and loving Happy the way we do. Please consider donating or sharing to help our family carry this weight.
