Heather is a 50-year-old disabled woman battling multiple life-threatening conditions, including Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (vEDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Addison’s Disease, Lupus, and Dementia. Despite these challenges, Heather faces each day with strength and grace — never alone, thanks to her loyal 8lb service dog, Elkea.
Elkea is more than a companion. He alerts her before medical episodes, stays by her side in hospitals, and provides comfort, protection, and love. Recently, he even accompanied her during a hospital stay, proving how inseparable — and essential — their bond is.
But now, Heather has lost everything and much much more!!
She is homeless with more advance stages of Dementia, with NO health insurance, and has no place to live as of 7/14/25, except the streets. Her life is in real danger — not just from her medical conditions but from the very real risk of being left without shelter or care especially with memory issues from advanced stages dementia from kidney disease.
As her close friend, I, Amanda, am doing everything I can to help Heather get back on her feet — but we need your help.
We’re asking for your support — even $2 makes a difference. Your donations will go directly toward:
• Securing a safe place to live
• Accessing urgent medical care and medications
• Feeding and caring for Heather & Elkea
• Rebuilding a stable, dignified life with memory care!
No one should be left behind because of illness or hardship and Dementia. Please share if you can’t donate. Every gesture counts.
Let’s come together to remind Heather she’s not alone.
With love and gratitude,
Amanda
