Alyssa’s Path to Work and Education

Hello, I’m Alyssa. I’m 18 years old and I’m raising money for a car and other expenses I need.

I live in a very small village, and all surrounding areas are other small villages. The closest towns are at least a 20-minute drive away. There’s no access to stores for groceries and no way to get a job. I plan on getting a job as soon as I have a car so I can transport myself. Since I live in a small area, there is no public transportation, not even Uber. Even if there was, I can’t pay for them since I can’t get a job due to lack of transportation. I can’t walk anywhere because it’s too far.

I have been couch hopping and in homeless shelters since I was about 16. I got my GED while in a homeless shelter, and my license on my own after I turned 18. I would really like to have a stable ground for once in my life, and to start that journey, I need a car. Once I have a car and a job, I will start paying for schooling to be a cosmetologist.
