About two months ago, Alyssa began treatment with hormone blockers to help slow the spread of cancer, along with infusions to strengthen her bones. The side effects have been really tough — daily nausea and intense fatigue have left her in bed many days, trying to push through as best she can.
Despite it all, Alyssa has stayed strong and incredibly positive. Her spirit has truly been inspiring. She has a PET scan coming up on the 25th to see if the treatment is working. If not, the next step is chemotherapy, which would be even more taxing on her body.
As you can imagine, the medical bills are piling up. Each specialist visit comes with a $200–$700 copay, and the cost of medications is overwhelming.
