Aid Needed After San Antonio Flood Loss

I work and live in the northeastern side of San Antonio and on my way back from work on Thursday (6/12/2025) around 4:30am, we were hit with a heavy storm that resulted in flash flooding. I could barely see because of how heavy the rain was and accidentally drove into a flooded part of the road. I was fortunate enough to be rescued from my car by the local fire department, but my car took on too much water and was totaled(It’s been all over the local news and tragically many died in the same area I was in). After the flooding cleared I found out the city had towed and impounded my car which I had to pay over $600 to get it out of the lot and get it towed again to trade for parts to put toward a new car. I was very sad because the car that I lost was bequeathed to me by my great grandmother and I had taking great care of it for about 10 years (including a brand new $300 battery I had bought on 6/2/2025). With all of these unexpected high costs caused by the weather: I’m not sure I’ll financially recover for a long time. I’m a divorced woman living alone just trying to survive on the bare minimum already. If I can just get through to next 2 months I know I can make it.
