(SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE INFO ABOUT MY SITUATION)

Due to outstanding living debts (rent, bills) because I was hospitalized at St. Paul’s renal ward, I am deeply struggling and trying to keep a roof over my head, trying to find a way to eat.. trying to do anything I can to get by. However, it’s not going well now that I’m back home.

I was accepted to be on the upcoming revisal list for food bank services.

However, because I live in a highly populated area- Food banks are on high demand and I am not the top of the list to get into the food bank next week like I hoped to do.

I am still waiting for a call/email to book an available appointment for the future, so hopefully in the next couple weeks I am accepted by the food bank to pick up some groceries.

I survived late stage renal failure last year and months later, I received the call to get to the hospital immediately for a kidney transplant.

The surgery went really well, but just over a month later I went into respiratory & cardiac distress. I was declining rapidly, and the answer to the issue came back super fast-

Turns out, I was in the midst of septic shock (blood poisoning).

My bowels failed the following day after being re-admitted into ICU.

Due to sepsis I lost mobility in my legs, feet and stomach- everything below the hips.

I couldn’t walk, and because of my kidney function returning to 5%- I was put back on hemodialysis.

A port C-line was placed into my chest for the recovery period.

With physical therapy and intensive medical care- the sepsis finally came to an end, and eventually I was able to stand and walk again.

My catheter was removed not too long ago, and my Chest port was also removed a couple weeks later.

I am no longer on dialysis but my body is not back to the standards of “thriving”.

I still have a long time left of being on the mend, but I know that I can do it.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
