Augie is the kind of person who lights up the room and is always ready with a warm smile, a helping hand, and a kind word. He’s a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to everyone lucky enough to know him.
In September, Augie was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of lung cancer, large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. Since then, he’s bravely endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy. Recently, after extensive testing, doctors determined that a medication called Lynparza could significantly improve the longevity of his life. Unfortunately, this treatment comes at an overwhelming cost and, heartbreakingly, insurance won’t cover it. Heather has been fighting back and forth with the insurance company for a while to get the medication approved because we all know Augie deserves any chance at a longer life expectancy.
RECENT UPDATE: On July 8th, 2025 Augie was transported to Los Alamitos hospital with low oxygen, pneumonia, blood clot and they found out he had a small heart attack about a week ago. At this time Augie’s hospital stay is through the roof!
Despite everything he’s facing, Augie continues to show strength, kindness, and the same generous spirit he’s always shared with others. He’s been there for so many of us and now it’s our turn to be there for him.
We’re asking our friends, family, and community to come together and support Augie during this incredibly difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward covering his treatment costs and easing the burden on his family.
If you’re able to contribute, please do. And if you can’t donate right now, please consider sharing this campaign …. it truly means the world.
Thanks!
